Formerly these types of players signed only through Upper Deck but Topps now has the likes of Rogers Hornsby, Lou Gehrig, Christy Mathewson, Cy Young and Mel Ott. The deal with CMG Worldwide brings into the Topps family some of the biggest names in the history of the sport and gives the grand daddy of all card companies a nice advantage in remaking vintage cards.

1/24/2008 PSA adds half-point grades for cards
Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) announced last week that it will implement a new half-point grading system beginning Feb. 1. The company's familiar 1-10 grading scale will now also include a half-point grade from 1.5 through 8.5. The expanded grading scale will apply only to single cards, not unopened packs or tickets.
